Jaap is a counter for mantra practice. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: your practice stays on your phone unless you ask otherwise.
• Your email address and password are handled by Firebase Authentication. We never see your password.
• If you switch backup on, your mantras and session history are copied to Firebase Cloud Firestore, stored under your account and readable only by you.
• Audio recordings and images are not uploaded. They remain only on your phone.
• You can switch backup off at any time, and you can delete your account and its cloud copy from within the app, under Settings → Backup. Deleting the account removes the cloud copy; the data on your phone is untouched.
• Switch cloud backup off at any time.
• Delete your account and its cloud copy from Settings → Backup.
• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information by writing to us.

1. What stays on your device
Your mantras, your counts, your sessions, your streaks, and any audio you record or choose are stored on your phone and nowhere else. The app works fully with no internet connection. We cannot see any of it.2. If you create an account (optional)
You can create an account with an email address and password so that a copy of your practice can be kept in the cloud and restored if you lose or change your phone. 3. Dedicating chants to a cause (optional)
If you dedicate chants to a cause, the app sends only the number of chants and which cause, so it can be added to a public worldwide total. It does not send your name, your account, or which mantra you were chanting.4. Diagnostics
In released versions, the app uses Firebase Crashlytics to report crashes and Google Analytics for Firebase to record which screens and features are used. These record device and app information — model, operating system version, app version — and in-app events. They do not record what you chant, your mantras, or the contents of your practice.5. Advertising
There is no advertising in this app. We do not show ads, we do not use advertising SDKs, and we do not share anything with advertisers. We do not track you across other apps or websites.6. Children
The app is a general-audience app. It does not knowingly collect information from children, and features intended for children add no data collection of any kind.7. Security
Data sent to the cloud is encrypted in transit. Access rules on our database restrict each account's backup so that it can be read and written only by that account. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but the app is built so that the minimum leaves your phone in the first place.8. Your choices and rights
• Use the app without an account — nothing leaves your phone.• Switch cloud backup off at any time.

9. Changes to this policy
